A Knight of the Nets Amelia Edith Huddleston Barr 9781358733864 Books
This charming novel takes place in the fictional fishing village of Pittendurie, and is reminiscent of George MacDonald's "The Marquis of Lossie". It's the story of a fishing family, their tragedies and their joys. This work makes the reader realize how much of the meaningful part of the world we miss in our technologically savvy but spiritually shallow culture. It's written in a very old-fashioned writing style which I found delightful.

Never having read Barr, I was excited. The local color of Scotland, and the richness of the characters makes this book a good read.
