His clear intent to simplify and educate to develop one's mediumship moves throughout the book. He has put down on paper what the best mediums who lived taught, keeping to the spirit, humility, tireless dedication and painstaking discipline of the early Spiritualist mediums. Gordon describes in flowing detail what a medium is, what a medium does and the process by which one develops using the strong foundation of his own experience with anecdotes to highlight key experiences and teachings. He is humble and puts the work first. Basically he has written THE textbook for any would be medium. I was lucky to be taught by one of the best Dorothy Cooklin, a student of the respected late Gordon Higginson. Everything she so painstakingly shared with me is in this book Gordon has written. Not an easy job. Thanks Gordon for this massive contribution. Thanks for ending the circus like reputation and putting mediumship on the level of respectability and devotion it deserves.Product details

I found this book helpful in further developing as a medium. Most books I've found only explain surface level details for what is involved in mediumship. This book covers a wide range of topics and is a great tool for aspiring and established mediums. www.fernandomarron.com
Gordon Smith keeps things simple, gives you the "meat and potatoes" of developing mediumship.
He comes from a Spiritualist Church background and there is a heavy emphasis on attending development circles.
Additionally he talks about the healing aspects of mediumship. He has a great sense of humor and his anecdotes are both
entertaining and insightful. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has a desire to develop mediumship skills.
Great book! Loved how he explained the process and how ong it takes to really develop. I was getting a little lost thinking this just isn't working after 8 months of studying this. Now I understand it takes much longer. He explained his own development which really helped me. Thanks Gordon!
Can't say it was all that helpful. Everything depends on finding a medium circle in your city. We don't have one, so nothing we can do here.
It was a very informative and honest book with very good examples of the author's life experience in developing mediumship. In additiion it is an excellent reference book for those readers who are developing spiritually. Very easy to understand as the writer is very open and honest when reviewing his experiences. Gordon Smith is saying that this pathway is not easy and that a developing medium needs time and patience. Some very good advice on how to deal with different situations.
Is is a great book as for as theory, belief systems, ethics, and laying your foundation- but it feels almost as if it was not intended to be a book, or teaching tool, but somewhat pieced together. There is a audio CD lecture of the same title By Gordon, which in my opinion covers what is in this book and more and highly recommended. I don't regret purchasing this, but it wasn't as "meaty" as I hoped.
Gordon Smith's books and his journey to how he teaches is amazing and as a student who wants to learn to knowing life continues on the other side and all of our loved ones want us to know they are always with us, they never do leave us.
